Day 1: Negombo
Arrive at the Bandaranaike International Airport where you will be welcomed by our tour leader. You will then be transferred to your hotel in Negombo. Based on your time of arrival, you can enjoy a walk in the streets of Negombo or chill in the beach. Take a bicycle tour if you wish (you can rent your bicycle).

Day 2: Sigiriya/Dambulla
Your personal vehicle will take you to Dambulla in the morning. Reach Dambulla which is at 130 Km from Negombo, by 10 AM Approx. where you will check in to your hotel. Drive to the cave temples where there are over 80 documented caves of which, 5 containing statues and paintings which depicts the ancient Sri Lanka. After lunch, head towards Sigiriya. This UNESCO world heritage site is commonly known as the 8th Wonder of the World. From ponds still working to date, to traces of his kingdom, Sigiriya takes you back in time. You can also wander in the gardens at the basement if you are too tired to climb. This tour will be fully guided. Stay in Dambulla.

Day 3: Dambulla/Minneriya
Expect an early wake up this morning where you will climb Pidurangala rock for sunrise. Pidurangala stands closer to the Sigiriya rock fortress which provides spectacular views to the climbers. Go on a game safari in the Minneriya National Park. Get up close to herds of wild elephants.

Day 4: Anuradhapura
Depart from Dambulla to visit the historical city of Anuradhapura. During the 2 hour journey, you will drive through the country side of Sri Lanka. Set your eyes across beautiful paddy fields which meet the horizon. Check into your hotel in Anuradhapura. Go on a cultural tour in the ancient Kingdom of King Pandukabhaya. Built in 377 BC, the ruins of his kingdom are still preserved. Spend your night in the city of Anuradhapura.

Day 5: Polonnaruwa
Drive to Polonnaruwa in a 3 hour ride from Anuradhapura. Polonnaruwa is also a UNESCO world heritage site. Built by King Parakramabahu I, Polonnaruwa retains a lot from its rich history. Spend your day inspecting its ancient infrastructure in a guided bicycle tour. Stay in Polonnaruwa this night.

Day 6: Mahiyanganaya/Dambana
Get ready for the 'twist' of your tour. Drive to the Vedda village in Dambana. Veddas are the earliest inhabitants of Sri Lanka. Start the day by checking into your hotel in Mahiyanganaya, a village sitting 20 Km west from the Vedda village. Learn the arts and crafts of veddas. Those who are into history can visit the museum. Drive back to Mahiyanganaya where you will visit the Sorabora Wewa, a beautiful expanse of water which has its own history. If you are lucky, see elephants swim across.

Day 7: Kandy
Stay in Mahiyanganaya in the morning to visit the Raja Maha Viharaya, an ancient buddhist temple which is an archaeological site. Drive approx. 2 hours to arrive at the heart of central province, Kandy. Take the popular 18 bend road. Kandy is the pinnacle of the Buddhist culture where iconic landmarks like Dalada Maligawa (temple of tooth) are present. Treat yourselves with a cultural show in the evening. Stay in Kandy this night.

Day 8: Pinnawala/Colombo
Drive to Pinnawala in the morning. Visit the elephant orphanage where you will get to interact with the largest herd of captured elephants. See how the authorities work to preserve these gentle giants. Drive to Colombo after the elephant show in Pinnawala. Reach Colombo in the evening. Enjoy our complementary farewell street food dinner in Colombo. Expect popular local delicacies like Kottu, Hoppers etc. Stay in Colombo where you will spend the night.

Day 9: Colombo
Wake up early this day for an early morning city tour. Visit most of the iconic landmarks in Colombo including the Independence Square, Galle Face Green, Hindu Kovil in Slave Island, Museum, Arcade independence square etc. Grab your cameras to capture some cover photos. Visit the famous street market in Pettah. We will guide you through the fruits and vegetable market, fabrics and clothing market and many more! We bid you farewell after dropping you off at the Airport.
